Ignis is a community percussion ensemble made up of experienced, passionate musicians dedicated to performing advanced percussion repertoire. In addition to sharing engaging performances, Ignis supports the next generation of percussionists through educational clinics, school outreach, and the commissioning of new works.

  • Alex Albertson, Founder

    Alex Albertson is a co-owner and educator at the new Maple Music Studios in Omaha, NE and Logan, IA. He previously served as a band teacher at Logan-Magnolia Schools and is an alumnus of Western IL University, Colts Drum and Bugle Corps, and Rhythm X. As the founder of Ignis, he is incredibly excited to share this performance opportunity with other incredible percussion performers and educators of the Omaha area. He is also proud to help contribute to Omaha’s vibrant music culture through Spark Percussion and often performing in area musical productions.

  • Bennett Jandreau

    Bennett Jandreau is a performer and educator based in Omaha, Nebraska. He holds a Bachelors of Music in Percussion Performance from the University of North Florida, and his Masters of Music from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Bennett is percussion director at Millard South high school, and Adjunct Professor of Percussion at Concordia University - Nebraska, where he teaches the drumline, percussion ensemble, Percussion techniques, and applied percussion. In addition to teaching, he is an active performer, performing on several occasions with the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, and Hastings Symphony Orchestra. Bennett is a multiple time semifinalist at the Great Plains International Marimba Competition.

    Ben has been playing percussion for about 8 years. He has performed with WGI and DCI ensembles such as Freedom Percussion and the Madison Scouts, and currently teaches the front ensemble at Millard North High School.

  • Owen Larson

    Owen Larson is a recent graduate from University of Nebraska at Omaha with a deep love for the performing arts. He actively participates in the percussion community through education and performance. Owen teaches at schools around the Omaha area, including Bellevue East High School from 2022 to present, as well as teaching and writing for Elkhorn High School from 2024 to present. He participated in the Cornhusker Marching Band in 2021, the Papillion Area Concert Band, UNO Percussion Ensemble, and Spark Indoor Percussion for its 2025 season. 

  • Paige Nola

    Bassist, actor, maker. Paige Nola has always had a love of storytelling and music. From Jazz to Rock to Salsa to Musicals: she loves it all. Most recently, she played bass for Ralston Community Theater’s product of Rock of Ages.

    Paige is entering her fifth year of directing Millard North High School’s show choir band, Insanity. She loves the many different genres played in the medium, giving the students a realistic gigging experience.

    Paige earned a degree in Double Bass Performance at UNO. She also studied film acting at New York Conservatory of Drama Acts and very active in the local film scene.

    Paige loves crocheting, all things chocolate, a good gel pen, training her dog, DINOSAURS, and laughing with her love.

  • Ben Samson

    Ben Samson is a percussionist and educator residing in Omaha, NE.  He is very active in theater work as a percussionist and music director, performing in productions across the country. As a performer on the professional stage he has shared the stage with world class ensembles, including Tony and GRAMMY® award winning artists.  As an educator, he has worked as a director, arranger, clinician, and consultant with ensembles across the Midwest.  Under his instruction, ensembles have consistently been awarded high percussion awards and honors, including silver and gold medalists at the WGI World Championships.  Ben is a proud member of the Innovative Percussion and Zildjian families as an endorsing artist and educator.

  • Megan Samson

    Megan Samson is a music educator and performer based in the Midwest. She has served as the Front Ensemble Caption Head for numerous Omaha Metro schools recognized for their award-winning programs. Ms. Durham has also been an instructor for several WGI medalist and finalist ensembles.  In addition to her work in education, she maintains an active performing career, appearing regularly in regional musical theater productions. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Nebraska–Omaha.

  • Davin Seeger

    Davin Seeger is a junior at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln pursuing a Music Education degree. His sights are set on teaching elementary general music for a career while continuing to be involved in the marching scene in Omaha and Lincoln areas as well as pursuing his love for composing and arranging new music.

  • Alex Sharp

    Alex Sharp is an instrumental director and performing artist from Omaha, NE. As an alum of Dojo Percussion and Railmen Percussion, he has over 11 years of experience teaching and coaching everything from marching band to beginning band camps across several school districts in the Omaha Metro. He also had the honor to serve as the Band and Orchestra Director for King Science Technology Magnet from 2020-2022, starting a jazz band as well as after school lessons for piano, percussion, and other instruments. While studying at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, he had performance opportunities at venues such as the Bluebarn Theatre, Kaneko, and Outrspaces, as well as performances for the 2019 Under The Radar Festival and the Nebraska Music Educators Association 2021 Conference.

    Alex is currently the Assistant Band Director for Millard North’s marching band, directs their percussion ensemble, and assists with private lessons and teaching their percussion class during the day.

    Ben Skoff is a music educator from Bellevue, Nebraska. He recently graduated from UNO with his Bachelor’s in Music Education. During his time at UNO, he performed in the percussion ensemble as well as the symphonic wind ensemble. He is a graduate of Bellevue East High School, where he currently serves as the caption head of the percussion program.

  • Ed Staples

    Ed Staples is a performer and educator living in the Omaha area. He plays in both Ignis Percussion and Spark Indoor Percussion. Ed is currently studying music education at UNO. He teaches marching percussion at Omaha North High School and is a drum set instructor at Sing Omaha Studios.
